Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Commissioner Sheikh Md Sazzad Ali has directed officers to maintain maximum alertness against activities and sabotage attempts by banned political parties. He emphasised the need for utmost professionalism in ensuring public safety and service delivery.
The commissioner issued these directives while chairing the monthly crime review meeting for April at the Bangladesh Police Auditorium in Rajarbagh on Thursday. Addressing DMP officers, he stated, “Police are a disciplined force governed by laws and regulations. We must demonstrate exceptional standards in uniform, conduct, service delivery, and firmness while performing duties. There is no room for unprofessional behaviour or negligence. Maintain humility when interacting with citizens.”
Commissioner Sazzad instructed police stations to form specialised teams for investigations, narcotics control, and recovery of stolen goods. He stressed the need for intensified crime prevention efforts and improving case resolution rates. “Every DMP member is working with strong determination to fulfill their professional responsibilities in the current situation,” he added.
