Bangladesh’s T20 captain Litton Das, who missed the team’s last two matches in the Asia Cup Super Four stage due to a rib injury, faces an uncertain return for the upcoming T20I series against Afghanistan.

A Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) source told reporters on Saturday that the medical department has advised the selectors Litton may require around two weeks to fully recover. It remains unclear whether he will be available for the ODI series, with a final decision expected after the conclusion of the T20I matches.

Litton sustained the injury on 22 September while batting in the nets at the ICC Academy Ground. Team doctor Bayejidul Islam provided immediate treatment and assessed the severity of the injury before Litton left the session. The injury forced him to miss two crucial Super Four matches against India and Pakistan in the Asia Cup.

Bangladesh’s series against Afghanistan gets underway on 2 October, with all three T20Is scheduled in Sharjah, followed by three ODIs in Abu Dhabi.
