Election Commission (EC) will publish the draft of the updated voter list on Sunday (10 August), allowing 12 days for the correction of any errors.
Officials from the EC’s National Identity Registration Wing confirmed the matter on Saturday (9 August).
In this year’s update, around 4.4 million new voters will be added. Their details will be published in the supplementary draft list on Sunday, which upazila officials will post at designated locations.
Following the publication of the supplementary voter list, applications can be submitted until 21 August for inclusion of eligible names, removal of names of deceased or ineligible persons, voter transfers, and rectification of errors or discrepancies. These applications must be filed using Form-2, Form-12, Form-13, or Form-14.
The relevant upazila/thana election officers and registration officers will settle the applications by 24 August. After completing all related tasks, the final voter list will be published on 31 August.
Currently, Bangladesh has 12,37,32,274 registered voters. Those who turn 18 by 31 October will also be included in the electoral roll for the 13th National Parliamentary Election.
