The Bangladesh women’s football team left for Laos today to compete in the qualifying round of the AFC U-20 Women’s Asian Cup 2026.
Winners of the SAFF U-20 Women’s Championship, Bangladesh have been placed in Group H alongside South Korea, Timor-Leste, and hosts Cambodia. The girls in red and green will begin their campaign against Cambodia on August 6, followed by matches against Timor-Leste on August 8 and South Korea on August 10. All fixtures will take place at the New Laos National Stadium in Vientiane.
A total of 33 teams from across Asia are taking part in the first phase of the tournament, divided into eight groups. The eight group winners and the three best runners-up will qualify for the 12-team final round, which will also feature hosts Thailand.
The final round of the biennial youth championship, organised by the Asian Football Confederation for under-20 women’s national teams, is scheduled to be held in Thailand next year.
