Chorki is bringing its acclaimed series ‘Feu’ back to viewers in a new nine-episode release that will present the story in its complete form from 12 November.

Titled ‘Feu Complete Saga’, the release combines parts of the first season with the remaining story, offering audiences the full narrative rather than a conventional second season.

Inspired by the 1979 Marichjhapi massacre in West Bengal, the fictional series unfolds against the backdrop of the Sundarbans, exploring survival, resistance and political intrigue.

The story centres on Marshall, a mysterious figure who represents ordinary people, while a young man named Daniel becomes caught in a violent confrontation involving foreign agents.

Several unresolved questions from the first season will find answers in the new release.

These include the fate of Sunil, whether Marshall can secure the rights of his people after transforming from a honey collector into a pirate leader, and whether the residents of Dumurjhapi will find a place to live.

Director Sukorno Shahed Dhiman said the complete version would address these questions and offer a clearer picture of the geopolitical forces surrounding the community.

The nine episodes will premiere on Chorki at midnight on 12 November. The platform released the teaser on 3 November.

Dhiman clarified that ‘Feu Complete Saga’ is not simply a second season. It brings together portions of the earlier season and the remaining story to create a complete viewing experience.

He added that newcomers would also be able to follow the narrative without watching the original release.

Filming took place between 2023 and 2024 in Chalna, Batiaghata, Bajua, Mongla, Khulna and Satkhira. The locations reflect the culture and history of southern Bangladesh.

Chanchal Chowdhury plays Sunil, while Mostafizur Noor Imran portrays Marshall. The cast also features Tariq Anam Khan, Tanvir Apurbo, Hossain Zibon, Tahmina Authoi and Rizvi Rizu.

More than 100 artistes from Khulna, Bagerhat and Batiaghata also took part in the production.

Speaking about his character, Imran described Marshall as the embodiment of a fighter. He said the character’s appearance, clothing, body language and behaviour all carry considerable depth.

Chorki chief executive officer Redoan Rony said the first season had generated discussion through its story, locations and visuals.

He expressed confidence that the performances and visual presentation in the complete saga would make its portrayal of history and struggle more compelling.

The title ‘Feu’ refers to a jackal whose call alerts others to the presence of a tiger. According to Dhiman, the word also captures the fear and anxiety that become part of everyday life, reflecting the series’ political themes.

The story draws inspiration from the Marichjhapi massacre of 1979, when authorities evicted lower-caste Hindu refugees, including members of the Namasudra community, from an island settlement in West Bengal’s South 24 Parganas district.

Official records put the death toll at two, although various estimates suggest that more than a thousand people were killed.
