Olivia Rodrigo is set to release her first Christmas song, “Take Me Home (4 Christmas)”, on Thursday at 5PM PT, accompanied by a music video featuring ‘Sex and the City’ star Cynthia Nixon and ‘Saturday Night Live’ comedian Ben Marshall.
According to Variety, the track was written by Rodrigo alongside her frequent collaborators Dan Nigro and Amy Allen, with Nigro also serving as producer. A 7-inch vinyl and cassette edition will launch alongside the single, with pre-orders available through Target. Physical copies are expected to reach stores on Friday.
The festive release follows Rodrigo’s “Expectations” remix featuring Chappell Roan, which came out on 15 October with a music video starring both singers and Talking Heads frontman David Byrne as an eccentric game-show host.
Rodrigo will also receive the Songwriter of the Year Award at Variety’s 10th annual Hitmakers event in Los Angeles this December. Other honourees include Sienna Spiro, who will receive the Visionary Voice Award, and KATSEYE, named Group of the Year.
The singer has had a busy year, releasing her third album, ‘You Look Pretty Sad for a Girl So in Love’, in June and organising the inaugural Daisy Chains Festival, which raised more than $20 million for non-profit organisations supporting women’s rights.
She is currently on her ‘Unraveled’ world tour, which is scheduled to continue through May 2027.
