A total of 12 platoons of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) have been deployed across industrial zones, including Gazipur and Narayanganj, following labour unrest to maintain law and order, guarantee public safety, and ensure uninterrupted factory operations.

The deployed personnel are conducting their operations in close coordination with local administration and other law enforcement agencies.

Currently, 10 platoons are stationed in Gazipur’s Sofipur, Kaliakair, and Konabari areas, whilst two platoons are deployed in the Chasara area of Narayanganj.

The overall situation in key surrounding areas, including Ashulia and Mirpur, is being closely observed.

To effectively observe ground-level developments and ensure swift responses, the BGB is executing technology-driven live monitoring using drones and body-worn cameras.

Drone surveillance has been intensified over critical roads, intersections, and sensitive locations.

Concurrently, body-worn cameras equipped by on-duty BGB personnel enable real-time field observation while playing a helpful role in ensuring transparency and accountability in their duties.

Live video streams from both drones and body-worn cameras are being monitored directly from a central monitoring cell established at the BGB Headquarters.

This cell facilitates continuous real-time assessment of field conditions, coordination with related units, and the issuance of necessary directives.

The BGB is operating with maximum professionalism, restraint, and responsibility to safeguard public life and property, maintain normal traffic movement, and preserve a peaceful atmosphere in industrial regions.

Integrated efforts with local administration and other law enforcement agencies, alongside technology-driven close surveillance, will continue to keep the situation normal.
