Bangladesh Open University (BOU) and the Bangladesh Accreditation Council (BAC) have expressed interest in working together on joint initiatives to ensure the quality of higher education, expand accreditation activities and strengthen institutional capacity.
The understanding was reached when a BOU delegation, led by Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Mohammad Siddiqur Rahman Khan, paid a courtesy visit to BAC Chairman Professor Dr Md Akhtar Hossain Khan on Sunday, 1 Nov 2026, according to press release.
Discussions during the visit focused on mutual cooperation, sharing expertise and the possibility of jointly undertaking various initiatives.
BOU Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Mohammad Siddiqur Rahman Khan said, “Accreditation is extremely important for ensuring the quality of higher education. Bangladesh Open University is working relentlessly to improve academic standards, follow international benchmarks and achieve institutional excellence. In this regard, the guidance and support of the Bangladesh Accreditation Council will further accelerate our efforts.”
