A 35-year-old man was stabbed to death by unidentified assailants in an area adjacent to Dargah Kashemia Mosque in Khulna city’s Labanchara.
The deceased was identified as Shahidul, son of Mahatab Sheikh of the Buro Maulvir Dargah area, said Syed Mosharraf Hossain, officer-in-charge of Labanchara Police Station.
According to locals, the assailants stabbed Shahidul and left him lying on the road. He was later rescued and taken to Khulna Medical College Hospital, where doctors declared him dead while he was undergoing treatment.
OC Mosharraf said Shahidul was accused in eight cases, including murder and drug-related cases. Police are working to determine the motive behind the killing and identify those involved.
