British American Tobacco Bangladesh Company PLC (BAT Bangladesh) reported a 28.8 per cent decline in earnings per share for the first nine months of 2026, as lower sales volumes and revenue weighed on profitability.
Earnings per share (EPS) fell to Tk9.50 in January–September from Tk13.34 a year earlier, according to financial results disclosed following the company’s board meeting on Wednesday.
Despite weaker earnings, net operating cash flow per share turned positive, reaching Tk42.05 from negative Tk21.70 in the corresponding period of 2025.
The company attributed the improvement to lower payments of supplementary duty, value-added tax and income tax.
The turnaround represents an increase of Tk63.75 per share in operating cash flow, contrasting with the decline in reported earnings.
BAT Bangladesh’s net asset value per share rose 3.6 per cent to Tk108.97 at the end of September from Tk105.22 a year earlier.
