Kohinoor Chemical Company (Bangladesh) PLC reported a 14.1 per cent increase in annual earnings per share for the financial year ended June 2026 and recommended a combined 32.5 per cent dividend, comprising 20 per cent cash and 12.5 per cent stock.

The company’s earnings per share (EPS) rose to Tk17.68 from a restated Tk15.50 a year earlier, according to audited financial results approved by its board on Thursday.

The board also proposed raising the company’s authorised capital fourfold, from Tk50 crore to Tk200 crore, subject to shareholder approval at an extraordinary general meeting.

Authorised capital represents the maximum share capital a company is permitted to issue, rather than funds it has already raised.

Despite improved earnings, Kohinoor Chemical’s operating cash flow weakened sharply during the year.

Net operating cash flow per share fell 44.8 per cent to Tk8.77 from Tk15.88 a year earlier. The company attributed the decline to an increase in inventory value.

Net asset value per share, meanwhile, rose 19.9 per cent to Tk71.01 at the end of June from Tk59.24 a year earlier.

The proposed 20 per cent cash dividend represents Tk2 per share, while the 12.5 per cent stock dividend would provide shareholders with one additional share for every eight shares held.

The proposed capital increase would also require amendments to the company’s memorandum and articles of association.

Both meetings will be held digitally, with 19 November set as the record date for shareholder eligibility.

Individual shareholders would face 15 per cent withholding tax on cash dividends and other shareholders 20 per cent, under the Income Tax Act 2023.
