Advanced Chemical Industries (ACI) plans to establish a renewable energy subsidiary with Tk50 crore in authorised capital and Tk10 crore in paid-up capital, expanding into the sector despite widening group losses and weakening cash flow.
The company’s board approved the formation of ACI Renewable Energy Limited on Wednesday, subject to regulatory approval, according to a disclosure published on the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) on Thursday.
ACI will hold an 85 per cent stake in the proposed subsidiary, which marks a new investment initiative as the diversified conglomerate faces pressure on its consolidated financial performance.
The company did not disclose the venture’s investment plans, proposed projects or operational timetable.
ACI reported a consolidated loss per share of Tk8.59 for the year ended 30 June 2026, compared with Tk7.40 a year earlier, representing a 16.1 per cent widening of losses on a per-share basis.
Consolidated net asset value per share fell 9.8 per cent to Tk82.67 from Tk91.64, while net operating cash flow per share deteriorated to negative Tk58.53 from negative Tk51.63.
Despite the weaker results, ACI’s board recommended a 15 per cent cash dividend and a 5 per cent stock dividend for FY2025–26.
ACI has scheduled its annual general meeting for 28 December, with 19 November set as the record date for determining dividend eligibility.
The company’s shares edged up 0.28 per cent on Thursday, gaining Tk0.50 to close at Tk177.60 on the DSE from Tk177.10 in the previous session. Each share has a face value of Tk10.
