Sikder Insurance Company Limited reported a 113 per cent rise in earnings per share for the first nine months of 2026, even as its net assets fell 27.4 per cent and operating cash flow weakened.
Earnings per share (EPS) increased to Tk1.34 in January–September from Tk0.63 a year earlier, according to unaudited financial statements approved by the company’s board on Thursday.
However, net asset value declined to Tk40.47 crore at the end of September from Tk55.78 crore in December 2025, a reduction of Tk15.30 crore.
Net asset value per share fell to Tk10.12 from Tk13.94 over the same period, reflecting a substantial decline in the company’s equity position despite stronger reported earnings.
Cash generation also weakened. Net operating cash flow per share dropped 46.3 per cent to Tk0.22 in the first nine months from Tk0.41 a year earlier.
Third-quarter earnings showed a more modest increase, with EPS rising 3.6 per cent to Tk0.29 in July–September from Tk0.28 in the corresponding quarter last year.
Operating cash flow per share for the quarter improved to Tk0.10 from Tk0.08, an increase of 25 per cent.
The divergence between higher nine-month earnings and falling net assets highlights contrasting trends in the insurer’s financial performance.
The company did not disclose the reasons for the decline in net assets or the deterioration in nine-month operating cash flow in its price-sensitive announcement.
Sikder Insurance’s board approved the third-quarter financial statements at its 88th meeting on Thursday.
