Litton Kumer Das sustained a right elbow contusion after a delivery from West Indies fast bowler Jaden Seales struck him during Bangladesh’s first innings. National team physiotherapist Bayjedul Islam Khan confirmed the injury update.
“Litton Das has sustained a contusion to his right elbow after being struck while batting in Bangladesh’s first innings. He is being observed. Jaker Ali Anik is the substitute wicketkeeper,” Khan said.
Litton stayed unbeaten on 34 runs as Bangladesh folded for 272 in their first innings. The wicketkeeper-batter altered his approach late in the innings, taking singles early in overs to shield partners as discomfort from the blow affected his movement. Shadman Islam anchored the top order with a century, but the lower order failed to push Bangladesh past the 300-run mark. West Indies spinner Jomel Warrican claimed five wickets to derail the innings.
