Garment workers of The Sunin Corporation Limited staged a demonstration in Dhaka’s Lalbagh area on Saturday afternoon, demanding payment of one month’s outstanding wages.
The workers blocked a road near Nawabganj Boro Masjid at around 4pm, disrupting traffic in the area.
Lalbagh Police Station Officer-in-Charge Jamil Hossain said the workers had taken to the streets to demand their unpaid wages.
Following the blockade, police and factory management held discussions with the protesting workers to resolve the situation.
The workers withdrew their blockade and left the area at around 4:30pm, he said.
