A more person died of dengue while 406 others were hospitalised with the mosquito-borne disease across the country in the last 24 hours till Wednesday morning, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
It said the death was reported from Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC), bringing the total number of fatalities in DSCC to 21 this year.
With the latest fatalities, the total number of deaths from dengue rose to 52, while the number of confirmed cases climbed to 13,594.
During the period, 98 dengue patients were hospitalised in Barishal division, which is the highest in the country, while 78 in Chattogram division and 64 in Dhaka division, DGHS added.
So far, some 12,225 dengue patients have been discharged from hospitals, including 9,672 from outside Dhaka.
Some 1,317 dengue patients are now undergoing treatment at different hospitals across the country, 943 of whom are from outside Dhaka.
Last year, the total number of cases rose to 101,214, while 575 deaths from dengue disease were reported, the statement added.
