The 22nd Academic Council Meeting of Aviation and Aerospace University, Bangladesh (AAUB) was held at the conference room of the university’s Dhaka campus.

According to the press release, the meeting was chaired by the AAUB Vice-Chancellor Air Vice Marshal M Mustafizur Rahman, BSP, GUP, nswc, afwc, psc, GD(P).

Welcoming the members, the VC said the rapid advancement of aviation, aerospace, and space technologies, together with the growing application of Artificial Intelligence (AI), autonomous systems, robotics, and data-driven technologies, is transforming the sector at an unprecedented pace.

He emphasised that in this evolving environment, higher education must move beyond conventional curricula and be closely integrated with research, innovation, and emerging technologies.

Particular importance is being given to integrating Artificial Intelligence with aviation and aerospace technologies, creating opportunities for advanced research in areas including AI-enabled aircraft maintenance and operations, data links, unmanned aerial systems, space systems, and advanced engineering design.

The VC observed that the role of a modern university is not merely to disseminate existing knowledge, but also to create contemporary and up-to-date knowledge, develop new technologies through research and innovation, and generate solutions suited to national needs.

With this vision, AAUB continues to work towards strengthening indigenous capability, technological self-reliance, and the development of internationally competent human resources in the aviation and aerospace sectors.

During the meeting, a brief overview of the major academic and administrative activities undertaken since the 21st Academic Council Meeting was presented. The Council also discussed curriculum development, future plans for higher education and research, and initiatives for further enhancement of academic quality.

The meeting was attended by AAUB members as well as Academic Council members representing the Bangladesh Air Force, Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET), Bangladesh Maritime University (BMU), Bangladesh University of Professionals (BUP), and Military Institute of Science and Technology (MIST).
