A man died after falling from the rooftop of BIRDEM General Hospital in the capital’s Shahbagh area on Tuesday evening.
Ramna Model Police Station Officer-in-Charge Mohammad Yasin Mia confirmed the incident, saying the man’s identity could not immediately be established.
Police said the deceased was not a patient at the hospital.
A preliminary review of CCTV footage showed that the man entered the hospital from outside and took an elevator to the rooftop, the OC said.
Police are investigating the incident and working to identify the deceased and determine the circumstances surrounding his death.
The body will be handed over to the family after the identity is confirmed and necessary legal procedures are completed.
