The 11‑party alliance’s long march from Dhaka to Chattogram began Saturday morning with a rally at Shapla Chattar in the capital’s Motijheel. The programme started at 7am, joined by leaders, activists, and supporters of different alliance parties.
The long march was called by Jamaat-e-Islami led alliance to press six demands began Saturday morning. Around 7am, a motorcade set off from Shapla Chattar in Dhaka’s Motijheel.
At 7:20am, Jamaat‑e‑Islami chief and opposition leader Shafiqur Rahman arrived at the venue.
He was accompanied by National Citizen Party (NCP) convener and opposition chief whip Nahid Islam, Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) president Colonel (retd) Oli Ahmad, Bangladesh Khelafat Majlis chief Maulana Mamunul Haque, and other senior alliance leaders.
Following speeches, the long march toward Chattogram was scheduled to begin. Roadside rallies, receptions, and greetings from the public are planned along the route. The programme will conclude with a rally at Laldighi Maidan in Chattogram.
