Shwapno, Bangladesh’s largest retail chain, is marking the opening of more than 1,001 outlets with month-long special offers, affordable products and a Hilsa Festival throughout September. The campaign, which began Sept 1, comes as rising prices of essential commodities increase concerns among consumers, according to a press release.
The retailer is offering discounts on a range of everyday essentials, including rice, lentils, cooking oil, flour and milk, as part of an initiative aimed at helping customers reduce monthly grocery expenses. The campaign will continue throughout September.
Shwapno is also hosting a special Hilsa Festival to celebrate the seasonal fish, which holds a prominent place in Bangladesh’s food culture. Dedicated corners at its stores will feature Hilsa in different sizes, alongside a selection of local freshwater and marine fish.
The retailer said the festival will give customers the opportunity to choose from a range of fish under one roof while also offering special prices on essential products.
By combining seasonal offerings with discounts on everyday necessities, Shwapno aims to make shopping more affordable and the September celebration more accessible to customers.
