Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has released a commemorative postage stamp marking National Rural Development Day 2026, themed “Developed rural areas, Prosperous Country, Bangladesh First”.

The commemorative stamp was released on Sunday morning at the Prime Minister’s Office in the Secretariat. Along with the Tk10 commemorative stamp, an opening envelope and a Tk5 data card were also unveiled.

LGRD Minister Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, State Minister Mir Shahe Alam, and Secretary Md Shahidul Hasan were present on the occasion.

The Bangladesh Post Office releases special commemorative stamps, opening envelopes, and data cards every year on 6 July to mark “National Rural Development Day.”

The primary objective of this initiative is to recognise contributions to the country’s rural economy and development, while highlighting the significance of the day to the public.
