Bangladesh will head to Maldives for the Diamond Jubilee International Tournament without any Bangladeshi origin expatriate footballers in the squad. There had been talk about including such players, but the final squad will consist only of local footballers.

The Bangladesh Football Federation announced a 32 member preliminary squad on Saturday. The team camp also starts today as preparations begin for the tournament.

Many players from the squad were part of Bangladesh’s SAFF Under 20 Championship team in April. The squad also includes players with national team experience such as Mehedi Hasan Srabon, Al Amin, Mojibur Rahman Jony and Piyas Ahmed Nova.
