Inter Milan clinched the Serie A title with a 2-0 win over Parma at San Siro, sealing the Scudetto with three games left and moving 12 points clear of Napoli on Sunday.
Inter controlled the match from the start. They held 59% of the ball and forced five shots on target. Parma failed to register a shot on target and created little threat in transition.
Marcus Thuram broke the deadlock in first-half added time. He met the chance inside the box and drove a right-footed finish into the corner past Zion Suzuki. Inter built pressure through wide areas and quick combinations around the box, which pulled Parma’s back line out of shape.
Inter kept the tempo high after the break but needed patience for the second goal. Lautaro Martínez led the line and linked play between midfield and attack. In the 80th minute, he sent a low ball across goal for Henrikh Mkhitaryan, who arrived late and finished from close range.
The result confirms Inter’s third league title in six seasons and their 21st overall. They have won 26 of 35 matches and scored 19 goals in their last six games.
Head coach Cristian Chivu secures his first major trophy in the role after his earlier success with the club as a player. Inter close the season with control of the title race and a clear gap at the top.
