Bangladesh Women need 155 runs to stay alive in the series after Sri Lanka Women posted 154 for 4 in the second T20I in Sylhet.
Bangladesh captain Nigar Sultana Joty won the toss and chose to bowl first. Her bowlers started well and kept Sri Lanka under pressure early on. Sri Lanka lost their first wicket on 22, and their scoring rate stayed quiet in the opening overs.
Sri Lanka captain Chamari Athapaththu then led from the front. She played a steady knock of 42 from 37 balls and gave her side control. Imesha Dulani added 27 from 25 balls and built an important stand with her skipper.
After both set batters got out, Nilakshika Silva and Harshitha Samarawickrama took charge. They added 61 runs for the fourth wicket and pushed Sri Lanka towards a strong total.
Harshitha played the key innings late on. She struck 49 from just 29 balls and attacked Bangladesh in the closing overs before falling on the last ball. Nilakshika stayed unbeaten with 22 from 18 balls.
Sri Lanka finished on 154 for 4 from their 20 overs.
For Bangladesh, Fariha Trisna, Sultana Khatun, Nahida Akter, and Ritu Moni took one wicket each.
