Parvez Hossain Emon has crashed out of the Pakistan Super League after suffering a shoulder injury during a fielding collision on April 3 at Gaddafi Stadium, forcing Lahore Qalandars to continue their campaign without the Bangladesh opener.
Emon collided with Asif Ali while chasing the ball against Multan Sultans. He walked off holding his shoulder, and the damage ran deeper than it first looked.
Scans confirmed the worst. The medical team found ligament damage, ruling him out for the remainder of the tournament. Lahore moved quickly and confirmed the setback.
The doctors have now ordered rest and rehabilitation. That call ends his PSL run before it truly took off. Lahore will name a replacement soon, but they lose momentum in the process.
Emon had just started to find his rhythm. He featured in three matches and adapted to different roles across the order. He even stepped up to open when Fakhar Zaman missed out.
He made that chance count. He struck 71 runs at a brisk strike rate of 161.36, including a fluent 45 against Multan. Those numbers hinted at something building.
