Unico Hospital has introduced a Senior Citizen Care Programme offering discounted and dedicated healthcare services for elderly patients, as private providers move to expand specialised care for an ageing population.
The initiative provides senior citizens with benefits across both outpatient and inpatient services, including doctor consultations, laboratory testing, radiology imaging, diagnostic procedures and dialysis. It also includes the Unico@Home service, designed for patients unable to travel, enabling them to receive routine check-ups and care at home.
The programme also seeks to involve families more closely in care, with a focus on supporting both the physical and emotional well-being of elderly patients.
The launch event was attended by healthcare stakeholders and inaugurated by Japan Bangladesh Friendship Retirement Home Founder and Chairman Professor Dr Sardar A Naeem, alongside Unico Hospital Managing Director Tazul Islam Dhali and Chief Executive Officer Ardra Kurien.
Speakers at the event highlighted the hospital’s focus on improving access to affordable and quality healthcare for senior citizens, while special guests emphasised the growing need for targeted healthcare services for the elderly.
The ceremony drew participation from elderly healthcare philanthropists, patients treated at Unico Hospital, members of the press, religious leaders and the hospital’s management, doctors and staff.
Unico Hospital said the programme is aimed at improving healthcare accessibility and providing comprehensive treatment support, ensuring senior citizens receive care with dignity and compassion.
