Bryan Cranston, best known for ‘Breaking Bad’, has stressed the importance of comedy in today’s media-saturated world.
Speaking to The Guardian, the multi-Emmy-winning actor said comedy is not just enjoyable but essential, offering audiences a respite from the relentless, often bleak, news cycle.
“It’s a break from the bombardment of nonstop information,” Cranston explained. “People who have the news on 24 hours a day in their homes may not realise the damage they’re doing.”
Cranston helped bring back the ‘Malcolm in the Middle’ reboot for Hulu and Disney+. The four-part limited series sees the family reunite at Hal and Lois’ 40th wedding anniversary. Most original cast members return, though Erik Per Sullivan’s Dewey has been recast with Caleb Ellsworth-Clark.
Kiana Madeira joins as Malcolm’s girlfriend Tristan and Keeley Karsten plays his daughter Leah.
Outside the reboot, Cranston will return in ‘The Studio Season 2’, reprising his role as Griffin Mill, the ambitious CEO of Continental Studios.
