The National Citizen Party (NCP) has announced a three-day festival to celebrate the upcoming Eid-ul-Fitr, which includes a procession in the capital following the tradition set last year.
The party’s spokesperson Asif Mahmud Shojib Bhuyain shared the details during a press conference held at Shahbagh on Tuesday afternoon.
According to the schedule, a procession will be brought out on the morning of Eid day. It is set to commence from the High Court area, pass through the Shaheed Minar, and conclude at Shahbagh.
The festivities are planned to begin on Chand Raat with a mehendi ceremony and cultural programme at Rabindra Sarobar. Additionally, a kite festival is slated for the day after Eid at Suhrawardy Udyan.
Asif Mahmud emphasised that the event is inclusive, stating that everyone can participate regardless of religion or caste. He further mentioned that any individual is welcome to join as a volunteer and noted that the costs for the celebrations would be covered through crowdfunding.
