A total of 20,500 Bangladeshi pilgrims have returned home after performing holy Hajj this year, according to the Hajj Bulletin released on Saturday (June 14). Of the returnees, 2,924 pilgrims returned via government arrangements, while 17,576 traveled through private agencies.
The bulletin further reported that Biman Bangladesh Airlines transported 6,207 pilgrims, Saudia Airlines carried 7,873, and Flynas Airlines flew 6,420 pilgrims back to the country. So far, 52 return flights have been completed — 16 by Biman, 20 by Saudia, and 16 by Flynas. Meanwhile, the number of Bangladeshi pilgrims who have died in Saudi Arabia during the holy Hajj season has risen to 29. As of Friday, the death toll stood at 27, but two more deaths were reported on Saturday. Among the deceased, 25 were men and 4 were women.
This year’s Hajj was observed on June 5. The first group of Bangladeshi pilgrims departed for Saudi Arabia on April 29, and the last outbound flight took place on May 31. Return flights will continue until July 10. In total, 87,157 Bangladeshis performed Hajj in 2025.
