A labourer was stabbed to death by unknown assailants at Kotbari area of Savar Municipality on Tuesday morning.
The victim was identified as Durjoy Sheikh (48), son of late Nazimuddin from the village of Golpara in the Haluaghat upazila of Mymensingh.

He lived with his wife Bilkis in Kotbari area of Savar. Durjoy worked as a laborer at Kawranbazar in Dhaka.
According to his wife, Durjoy returned home from work at around 11:00pm on Monday night and later left again at around 1:00am to buy cigarettes . He did not return home that night. Locals discovered his body near his house in the morning and informed the police.
He was struggling with drug addiction, his relatives claimed.
Sub-Inspector of Savar Model Police Station Kader Sheikh confirmed the incident and said the body had been sent to Shaheed Sohrawardy Medical College Hospital for an autopsy.
He also mentioned that an investigation is underway to determine the motive behind the murder and to arrest those involved.
