The Paranormal Activity franchise is set to return with an eighth instalment, with James Wan joining the series for the first time as producer. Wan, known for his work on ‘The Conjuring’, ‘Insidious’ and ‘Saw’, will collaborate with Jason Blum and original creator Oren Peli on what Paramount and the newly merged Blumhouse-Atomic Monster label are calling it a rebirth of the horror series.

Wan described himself as a huge admirer of Paranormal Activity and said he hopes to expand on its legacy and help shape the next evolution of this scary found-footage franchise.
