Three people were killed and 15 others injured after a bus collided with a truck in Shibchar upazila of Madaripur on Tuesday.
The identities of the deceased could not be confirmed immediately.
The accident occurred around 9:30am as a Welcome Paribahan bus, heading to Khulna from Dhaka, rammed into the rear of a truck while crossing the Arial Khan Bridge near the Dhaka–Bhanga Expressway, police said.
One person died on the spot, while locals and police rescued the injured and took them to a nearby hospital, where doctors declared two more victims dead.
Zahurul Islam, officer-in-charge of Shibchar Highway Police Station, said several of the injured are in critical condition.
The bodies have been kept at the Bhanga Upazila Health Complex.
