Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) arrested 387 people and filed 45 cases during routine drives across the capital over the last 24 hours, according to a DMP statement issued on Wednesday.
The arrests were made during operations conducted across different police station areas in the capital by DMP’s crime and detective units.
According to DMP, the arrestees included Mirpur division recorded the highest number of detainees at 93, followed by 56 in Tejgaon, 49 each in Wari and Motijheel, 41 in Uttara, 34 in Gulshan, 31 in Ramna, and 26 in Lalbagh.
The Detective Branch (DB) of DMP arrested eight more people.
During these operations, police recovered 11,850 pieces of Yaba, 47kg of hemp, four mobile phones, and Tk10,000 in cash suspected to be proceeds from drug sales.
Legal proceedings against the arrested people are underway.
