Three people have been detained at Jahangirnagar University after separate incidents of harassment and obscene gestures toward female students.
Students handed the suspects over to campus guards, Ashulia Police Sub‑Inspector Shafiul Alam Sohag said.
Police later took the three into custody around 9:20pm Sunday from the university’s security office, the SI added.
One was detained near the Islamnagar Gate area, another, a shop worker on campus, was held for filming protesting female students without permission in front of the proctor’s office.
The third was detained near the new Arts Building.
