The Supreme Court and all subordinate courts and tribunals across Bangladesh will remain closed for three days from 20 to 22 October on the occasion of Sharadiya Durga Puja.
The decision, covering both the Appellate and High Court divisions of the Supreme Court, was announced through two separate notices issued by the Supreme Court.
According to the notices, the Ministry of Public Administration issued a notification on 7 October declaring a three-day holiday for government, semi-government, autonomous and private organisations from 20 to 22 October.
The notification also authorised the Supreme Court to decide on court operations during the holiday period.
Following the notification, the Supreme Court decided to suspend activities in both its divisions on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.
A separate notice confirmed that all subordinate courts and tribunals across the country would also remain closed during the same period.
