Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) arrested 28 people in a 24-hour raid across the capital under Operation Devil Hunt Phase-2.
The drives were conducted by Mugda, Banani, and Rupnagar police stations to apprehend those involved in various criminal activities.
According to Mugda Police Station sources, nine individuals were arrested during day-long drives in several crime-prone areas on Friday. The arrestees have been identified as Salman Ahmed, 19, Rifat Alam Munna, 18, Emon, 25, Mamun, 20, Mannan, 23, Sujan, 32, Naimur Rahman Apon, 28, Aslam, 26, and Sagar, 20.
In a separate operation on the same day, Banani Police apprehended seven people from various locations under its jurisdiction. Those arrested are Sharif Mia, 28, Khorshed Alam, 50, Mansur Ali, 35, Mohammad Ali, 19, Shahinur Hossain, 25, Sabuj Mia, 23, and Rakib, 20.
Meanwhile, Rupnagar Police arrested 12 individuals during their phase of the operation on Friday. The list of arrestees includes Mouli Akter Mallika, 35, Srabon, 20, Raju, 35, Mobarak Hossain, 22, Abdul Kaiyum, 24, Ashadul Islam, 23, Abir Hassan, 28, Mahibul Islam, 26, Ishrak Hossain Ifti, 25, Taibur Rahman, 25, Sabuj Mia, 23, and Mustakim Salehin Ekram Anto, 24.
All the arrested individuals have been produced before the court for further legal proceedings.
