Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) arrested 20 individuals during a day-long special operation in the Paltan area of the capital for their alleged involvement in various criminal activities.
Muhammad Talebur Rahman, deputy commissioner of the DMP’s Media and Public Relations, confirmed the matter through a press release.
The detainees include Nayeem Islam Rafi, Md Delowar Bepari, Rakib Hasan, Md Sourav, Md Jalal Mia, Bijoy, Md Alamgir Hossain, Md Masud, Md Milon, Md Rubel, Md Shah Alam, Md Mehedi Hasan, Md Shaheen, Md Sohel, Md Ali Hossain, Md Shahidul, Md Swadhin, Md Selim, Chadni, and Fatema Begum.
Police said the operation targeted individuals involved in a range of criminal offences in Paltan area.
The arrested persons have been sent to court to face legal proceedings.
Authorities also stated that such operations will continue to maintain law and order in the city.
