Two people lost their lives and at least 15 others sustained injuries in a head-on collision between two passenger buses on the Dhaka–Mymensingh highway in Bhaluka upazila, Mymensingh, on Saturday.
The identities of the deceased are yet to be known, reports UNB.
The crash took place in front of Bharadoba Tasrif Cotton Mill when a Shyamoli Bangla Paribahan bus and a Mymensingh-bound Ayan-Rayan Paribahan bus collided directly, said Atiqur Rahman, senior station officer of Bhaluka Fire Service and Civil Defence.
Both victims died on the spot. The injured were first rushed to Bhaluka Upazila Health Complex, while those in critical condition were later referred to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital.
Police have seized both buses following the accident.
