An auto‑rickshaw driver and a passenger were killed, and two others seriously injured, when a bus rammed the three‑wheeler in Pakundia upazila of Kishoreganj Saturday morning.
The deceased driver was identified as Selim, 45, son of Abdul Mannan of Bahadia village in Pakundia upazila. The identity of the passenger who died could not be confirmed immediately.
Police and local sources said the accident occurred around 6am near Baratia Bazar. A Kishoreganj‑bound bus, travelling from Tok in Gazipur, lost control and hit the auto‑rickshaw. Selim died on the spot, while two passengers sustained critical injuries.
Locals rescued the injured and took them to Syed Nazrul Islam Medical College Hospital in Kishoreganj, where the passenger died while undergoing treatment.
Pakundia Police Station Officer‑in‑charge SM Ariful Islam said they were investigating the incident and legal action would follow.
