Two people have died after consuming excessive liquor in Bijoynagar upazila of Brahmanbaria, while two others remain hospitalised.
The deceased were identified as Srinibas Malakar, 65, and Sourav Das, 25, from Mirzapur village in Bijoynagar.
Officer-in-charge Mohammad Shahidul Islam of Bijoynagar police station said the four men fell ill on Thursday night after drinking. They were admitted to Life Care, a private clinic in the district town.
Srinibas and Sourav died under treatment on Saturday morning, while the two others are still receiving medical care, he added.
According to the police sources, the bodies have been sent to the district hospital morgue for postmortem examination.
