Amader Bishwo Cup, a special television drama inspired by the excitement of the FIFA World Cup, premiered on Jago Entertainment’s YouTube channel at 6:00pm on 2 July. Produced by Jago Entertainment, the drama captures the passion, rivalry and family fun that accompany football’s biggest tournament in Bangladesh.
The FIFA World Cup brings celebrations across the globe, from waving national flags and wearing team jerseys to spirited debates among friends and family. In Bangladesh, the excitement reaches another level, especially among supporters of Brazil and Argentina.
The story follows a family divided by football loyalties, with members supporting different teams. Their playful rivalries, humorous arguments and entertaining situations drive the narrative. The drama also portrays the colourful enthusiasm, friendly competition and amusing incidents that unfold across neighbourhoods during the World Cup.
The cast features Irfan Sajjad, Sunerah Binte Kamal, Nader Chowdhury, Monira Akter Mithu, Deepa Khandakar, Saraf Ahmed Jibon, MD Saidur Rahman Pavel, Mukit Zakaria and several others.
Director Mahidul Mahim said the drama was filmed at various locations across Dhaka and produced on a larger scale. He said the team aimed to present a story featuring popular actors while realistically portraying World Cup excitement alongside everyday family life.
Mahim said filming took place in challenging weather conditions, with the cast and crew working through intense heat. He praised the team’s dedication and thanked everyone involved for their commitment.
He added that the special World Cup production offers viewers a blend of humour, family entertainment and football passion.
