Walton Hi-Tech Industries PLC has signed agreements with three architectural and engineering consultancy firms to build what it says will be the country’s largest corporate office tower, as the electronics manufacturer expands its long-term infrastructure and branding ambitions.
The company signed separate deals with Vistaara Architects Private Limited, Abode of Consultant’s Private Limited and BN Engineering for consultancy support covering architectural design, structural planning and engineering services for the proposed tower project in Dhaka.
The signing ceremony was held at Walton Corporate Office on Sunday, according to a press release.
Company officials said the proposed Walton Iconic Tower will be developed on a 14.3-bigha site at the company’s corporate office premises in Dhaka with a planned floor area of around 1.8 million square feet.
Under the first phase, Walton plans to construct a 13-storey ‘green’ office building with about 9,00,000 square feet of space on seven bighas of land. The structure will also include three basement levels.
Walton Managing Director SM Mahbubul Alam said the project is aimed at creating a smart, sustainable and employee-focused working environment while reflecting the company’s long-term vision for innovation and global competitiveness.
He said the planned tower would represent Bangladesh’s growing industrial capability and design strength alongside Walton’s expansion in technology and manufacturing sectors.
Vistaara Architects Managing Director Mustapha Khalid Palash said the project would incorporate international-standard architecture, smart space management systems, energy-efficient technologies and environmentally sustainable materials.
Walton Hi-Tech Chief Financial Officer and Additional Managing Director Md Ziaul Alam signed the agreements alongside Abode of Consultant’s Chairman and Managing Director Professor Dr M Shamim Z Bosunia, Vistaara Architects Managing Director Mustapha Khalid Palash and BN Engineering Chief Executive Officer ABM Abdul Kabir.
Walton Hi-Tech Chairman SM Shamsul Alam, Managing Director SM Mahbubul Alam, Directors SM Nurul Alam Rezvi and SM Rezaul Alam, along with senior officials from the consultancy firms, attended the event.
Industry insiders said large-scale corporate infrastructure projects are increasingly becoming part of branding and operational expansion strategies for major local conglomerates as competition intensifies across industrial and technology sectors.
