Visa, a global leader in digital payments, has been confirmed as FIFA’s Official Payment Technology Partner and will be the exclusive method of payment for tickets in the first phase of sales for the FIFA World Cup 2026.

The fan journey for the tournament begins on Wednesday 10 September, when Visa cardholders around the world will have an exclusive opportunity to enter the Visa Presale Draw. Fans are encouraged to visit FIFA.com/tickets today to register their interest and create a FIFA ID, which is required to take part in the presale.

Those who log into their FIFA.com/tickets account using their FIFA ID and complete the application form between 10 and 19 September will be entered into the draw for a chance to purchase tickets during the first phase of sales. Terms and conditions apply.

Successful applicants will be selected through a random process, and FIFA will begin notifying them via email from 30 September at the earliest. Selected fans will be assigned a date and time slot in October to visit FIFA.com/tickets and purchase tickets, subject to availability.

As the exclusive payment provider for this phase, Visa will offer a fast, secure and seamless checkout experience for fans across the globe.

“Excitement for the FIFA World Cup 26 is building fast, and 10 September is a date every football fan should have marked in their calendar,” said Romy Gai, FIFA Chief Business Officer.

“We’re delighted to once again partner with Visa to give fans the very first opportunity to secure their place at the greatest show on earth. A ticket to the FIFA World Cup isn’t just a ticket – it’s a gateway to the most inclusive and spectacular tournament in our history. Everyone will want to be part of this moment, so make sure you’ve created your FIFA ID and have your Visa card ready.”

Frank Cooper, Chief Marketing Officer at Visa, added, “We’re reaching a fever pitch with just months to go until kick-off, and Visa is proud to be leading the charge from midfield – connecting fans to the action and empowering local businesses to play their strongest game.

“This isn’t just about early access to tickets – it’s about unlocking opportunities across North America, fuelling the passion of the global football community and ensuring the economic impact of the tournament reaches far beyond the final whistle.”

Tickets for the FIFA World Cup 2026 will be released in phases, each with its own sales process. Fans who are not eligible for the Visa Presale Draw, or who wish to make additional purchases, will still have opportunities to buy tickets in later phases. Further details will be released in September.

Hospitality packages, which include match tickets, are already available at FIFA.com/hospitality. FIFA strongly encourages fans to make all purchases through FIFA.com/tickets to avoid invalid tickets or unofficial channels.

A valid match ticket does not guarantee entry to the host countries. Fans are advised to check the entry requirements on each host country’s government website.

The 2026 FIFA World Cup will be the biggest tournament in history, featuring 48 teams and 104 matches across three host countries. Fans are urged to begin planning now to be part of this unforgettable experience.
