Tomoshibi Academy has officially opened its Japanese Language School in Dhaka, aiming to empower Bangladeshi youth through language education and cultural exchange. The inauguration ceremony took place at Grameen Banglar Akshay Tower, Vatara, on Sunday, August 24, with prominent figures from the Embassy of Japan in Bangladesh attending the event.
The academy, under the guidance of Principal Simoshoya Takashi, is dedicated to promoting the Japanese language while providing skills development opportunities for young people, particularly from underserved regions like the hill tracts. “Our mission is not just to teach the language but to offer a platform for community development,” said Takashi. “We want to create opportunities for the youth of Bangladesh to connect with Japan and improve their future prospects.”
The academy’s initial courses will focus on Japanese Language Proficiency Test (JLPT) N5 and N4 levels, alongside preparatory training for the Technical Intern Training Program (TITP) and Specified Skilled Worker (SSW) schemes in Japan. Through these programs, Tomoshibi Academy aims to equip Bangladeshi youth with essential skills, opening doors to employment and cultural exchange, while fostering socio-economic growth in marginalized communities.
