The Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC), Alim, and other equivalent examinations in 2026 will follow the complete syllabus, with full marks and regular exam duration for all subjects. Authorities expect the exams to take place in May-June.

The National Curriculum and Textbook Board (NCTB) confirmed the plan in an official letter signed by Chairman Rabiul Kabir Chowdhury. The announcement has also been published on the Dhaka Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board website.

According to the notice, students enrolled in Class XI for the 2024–25 academic year, which began in the second week of August, will appear in the 2026 HSC, Alim, and equivalent exams.

In previous years, higher secondary exams were conducted with a reduced syllabus and lower marks due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The 2026 examinations will fully restore the pre-pandemic system.
