Hollywood stars Tom Holland and Zendaya have reportedly chosen the historic Beaverbrook estate in Surrey to celebrate their wedding, adding another chapter to the high-profile couple’s private romance, reports Variety.
The couple are believed to have held a three-day post-wedding celebration at the 160-year-old neo-classical mansion this week.
Their reported guest list is said to have included Timothée Chalamet, Kylie Jenner and Robert Downey Jr.
Holland and Zendaya, who are currently starring in two major films this summer—The Odyssey and Spider-Man: Brand New Day—are thought to have officially married earlier this year. However, representatives for the couple have yet to confirm the reports.
The Surrey estate has a long association with prominent figures.
It was once owned by British media tycoon Lord Beaverbrook, who famously hosted lavish gatherings attended by Hollywood stars such as Elizabeth Taylor and political figures including Winston Churchill.
Located across 400 acres just outside London, Beaverbrook fell into disrepair before being acquired in 2010 by hoteliers Joel Cadbury, a descendant of the Cadbury chocolate family, and Ollie Vigors.
The pair spent years transforming the property into a five-star hotel and spa.
Rooms at the estate are named after some of Beaverbrook’s famous former guests, including Taylor and James Bond creator Ian Fleming.
Other rooms honour Charlie Chaplin, The Jungle Book author Rudyard Kipling and The War of the Worlds writer H.G. Wells. Rates this week reportedly start at £755 ($1,015) a night.
The estate also features a spa, gym, two swimming pools, a deli, a Japanese restaurant and an art-deco theatre.
Its owners describe the venue as the UK’s first home cinema. Beaverbrook reportedly watched Westerns, Marx Brothers films and Pathé war reports there with Churchill.
The property’s cinematic history continues today.
Directors Alan Parker, known for Fame, and Hugh Hudson, who directed Chariots of Fire, reportedly helped curate programmes for the theatre.
The surrounding area also has links to Hollywood productions.
The Christmas romantic comedy The Holiday was set partly in the nearby village of Holmbury St Mary, and Beaverbrook has previously offered a film-themed package featuring a private Mini Cooper tour inspired by Cameron Diaz’s character in the film.
The estate is also located near Brookwood Cemetery, where Holland and Zendaya were spotted filming scenes for Spider-Man: Brand New Day exactly a year ago.
In the film, the cemetery is where Holland’s Peter Parker lays flowers at Aunt May’s grave.
Despite the reported star-studded celebration, no photographs from the event have emerged.
The couple’s representatives have also not confirmed whether the reported wedding celebration took place.
Given Beaverbrook’s history of hosting confidential high-level meetings during World War II, when government officials gathered there while London was under bombardment, the secluded estate appears to have been a fitting choice for a couple known for keeping their relationship largely private.
