The Times of Bangladesh has retracted from its news report regarding Chief Adviser’s Special Assistant Faiz Taiyeb Ahmad’s Facebook post on the rumoured intent of Muhammad Yunus to resign from office.

The editorial decision has been taken following a latest post by Taiyeb Ahmad that reads, “the status shared regarding the Chief Adviser is solely my personal opinion. I kindly request that it not be treated or published as news’.

In his earlier Fcebook post on Friday, the senior aide to the Chief adviser said the head of the interim administration Muhammad Yunus will not step down.

It comes a day after the Chief Adviser’s reported expression of quitting from his position.

Along with his disclaimer, Ahmad, an engineer and technologist, also seemingly retracted his Facebook post, in which he earlier made the claim “the chief adviser will not resign”, as the previous post could not be found on his profile.
