On the occasion of the death anniversary of national poet Kazi Nazrul Islam, a special telefilm has been produced, drawing inspiration from his songs and plays to explore love, pain and human emotions.

The telefilm ‘Priyo Emono Rat Jeno Jay Na Brithai’ is based on Nazrul’s timeless song ‘Priyo Emono Rat Jeno Jay Na Brithai’, starring Emon and Shabnam Faria in their first collaboration.

Directed by Mushfiqur Rahman Gulzar, the story delves into the deep emotions and longings of a lover. Speaking on the matter, Gulzar said, “Many of Nazrul Islam’s songs have the potential to tell stories. I have tried to bring these stories to life theatrically. I believe audiences will enjoy the chemistry between Emon and Faria.”

Supporting roles are played by Tushar Khan, Sabiha Maliha Shokh, Anan and Shelly. The telefilm is set to air on Channel i on August 27 at 3:05 pm.

A range of dramas, telefilms and programs have been produced to mark Nazrul’s death anniversary, with the makers of telefilm hoping their project will resonate deeply with viewers.
