British Asian filmmaker and media professional Tazrul Islam Taz has been working in the British media and film industry for years.
Alongside his media career, he has also established himself in the business sector.
Now, the filmmaker wants to build a creative bridge between the media and film industries of Bangladesh and the United Kingdom.
As part of this initiative, Tazrul Islam Taz has directed the short film Trap, featuring Bangladeshi actor Sharmin Shila.
The short film has already been released on a Bangladeshi YouTube channel.
Through the project, the filmmaker aims to showcase the potential of producing international-standard content with Bangladeshi artists.
Taz said he is keen to promote the talent and potential of Bangladeshi artists on the international stage.
He also plans to produce international-standard films in Bangladesh and collaborate with local artists on new projects in the future.
According to Taz, creating regular opportunities for collaboration between the film and media industries of Bangladesh and the UK would benefit artists from both countries.
He hopes his initiatives will help introduce Bangladesh’s creative talent to a wider international audience.
Drawing on his experience in the British media industry, Tazrul Islam Taz plans to work with Bangladeshi artists on new stories and international-standard productions.
Trap marks the beginning of that journey, with further collaborations expected in the future.
