BNP’s Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman is scheduled to meet with interim government Chief Adviser Dr. Muhammad Yunus in London on June 13.
The information was confirmed by BNP’s media wing on Monday night.
According to sources, Dr. Yunus, who is currently in London, requested a meeting with Tarique Rahman. The decision for the meeting was finalized during a recent session of the BNP Standing Committee.
The upcoming meeting is expected to cover key political developments, including discussions surrounding the interim government’s role in the ongoing political process.
Earlier, the Chief Adviser left Dhaka for London on Monday evening for a four-day official visit to the United Kingdom.
An Emirates Airlines flight carrying the Muhammad Yunus and his delegation left Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport for London at 7:30pm.
He is expected to meet with King Charles III and hold bilateral talks with British Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer.
The chief adviser is also anticipated to meet with UK Foreign Secretary David Lammy, other senior ministers, political leaders, and prominent business figures during his visit.
During his visit, Yunus is expected to hold courtesy meetings with the Secretaries-General of the Commonwealth and the International Maritime Organization (IMO), where he will highlight Bangladesh’s broader international engagements.
As part of his public diplomacy efforts, he will deliver a special address at the Royal Institute of International Affairs (Chatham House) on June 11.
The Chief Adviser is scheduled to return home on June 14.
